Microscope is excited to present a night of sonic performances and album release by Mexican artist and poet Lucía Hinojosa Gaxiola. The album is released by Notice Recordings, a label from NYC & the Hudson Valley focused on experimental and contemporary sound works and was recently described by critic Marc Master as “in service of an atmosphere… more like something you enter than something you put on.”
The duo Stepančić.Gidron — composed of Teodora Stepančić & Assaf Gidron, two Brooklyn-based sound artists and composers who also experiment with the spatial qualities of sound, objects and the body — will be opening the night.
This is an in-person only event at Microscope’s space at 527 West 29th Street, Floor 3, in New York.
Please note that doors open at 6pm.

Stepančić.Gidron are Teodora Stepančić (http://www.teodora.stepancic.com/) (pianist, composer) and Assaf Gidron (https://www.assafgidron.com/about/) (composer, film sound editor). Based in Brooklyn, they curate and organize concerts of experimental music of our times in the United States, Europe, South America and the Middle East. They play electric keyboards, piano, found objects, sine tones and field recordings, performing written and improvised music that invites listeners into an introspective and generous mode of listening, where liminal and evocative sounds are gently delineated within existing sounding environments.
