Microscope is very pleased to present an evening of live sound both in-person and online by sound artists, composers, and performers Lucie Vítková and Viola Yip. The event will be both performed live in the space and live-streamed at the same time, for those unable to attend on-site.

Vítková and Yip, who started collaborating in January 2020, will present two collaborative sets built around their mutual interest in feedback and electronics. The first is a contemplative duo merging Yip’s feedback produced through a modified dining turntable, microphone and speakers with Vítková’s pocket feedback system, combined with accordion, harmonica, and voice.

The second, expressively “sharper,” set finds both performers on electronics excavating the possibilities of their instruments, Vítková’s Korg Volca Bass and Yip’s DIY analog devices. These two improvisations generate soundscapes with inherent sonic contrasts that “deepen the perception of the space we are in.”

The event will start promptly at 7:30pm ET.

Program:

1st Set: Feedback
Lucie Vítková (Portable pocket feedback, accordion, harmonica, voice)
Viola Yip (Modified dining turntable, microphone, speakers)

2nd Set: Electronics
Lucie Vítková (Korg Volca Bass)
Viola Yip (DIY analog electronics)

General Admission In-person: $12
Members Admission In-person: $10

Please note: The event has a limited capacity of 30 on-site, with proof of vaccination for Covid-19 and masks required.

Online tickets and the link to watch the livestream will go live at 7:30pm ET on the day of the show on this page.
