Deuén (They/Them) Once described as “something one might hear before they pass,” Deuén shimmers between dreams and reality. Their “rnb concrète,” weaves metallic production, bass, and reverb-coated, grunge-esque vocals into unusual and tender melodies. Existing in the in-between, Deuén explores the memory that blurs pleasure and pain, vulnerability and presence: from a broken mirror to a hesitant kiss or the sunlight that cuts the trees, their practice is an ode to the moments that make life worth living. They have shown work with Montez Press Radio, Creative Code Art, Stone Circle Theatre, Laboratory Spokane, Made in Media Center NY, and St. Marks Church.

Despite references to mainstream stars like Donna Summer, Prince, Lauryn Hill, and Beyoncé, MHYSA‘s atmospheric ballads and discordant experimental club tracks have found suitable homes on progressive labels such as NON, Halcyon Veil, and Hyperdub. Among the vocalist/producer’s releases are the widely acclaimed Fantasii (2017) and Nevaeh (2020).

STEMLINES (She/They) is the endless quest of Nnenna Udumah to explore the limitless world of music with a focus on electronic production and performance. Her music is marked by hypnotic drums, melodic R&B-inspired vocals, and expansive storytelling that allows her to elude the confines of genre. Through her music, she investigates the vast emotional landscape of human existence while feeding her insatiable desire for experimentation and discovery.
