In conjunction with the current exhibition TRIPLE BLIND, Bradley Eros has curated an evening of variations on slide projections featuring works by Lea Bertucci, Kenneth Curwood, Tim Geraghty, Sarah Halpern (with musician Carol Santel), Raha Raissnia and Eros himself. Sliding is an exploration of the possibilities of the slide – some analog 35mm, some photographed, some hand-crafted, some digital, microscopic collages, and some abstractions. Some will be layered with film, others with music – all temporarily arrested light through translucent plastic.
Following the event, we will have a brief closing toast for TRIPLE BLIND: Bradley Eros | Jeanne Liotta | Kenneth Curwood, which will close the following day on April 15th. The celebration will then move around the corner to Bizarre Bar.

Bradley Eros is an artist working in myriad media: experimental film & video, collage, photography, performance, sound, text, contracted and expanded cinema & installation. He has exhibited at the Whitney Biennial, NY; The American Century at the Whitney Musuem, NY; MoMA, NY; MoMA PS1, Queens, NY; The Kitchen, NY; New Museum, NY; Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, PA; Performs09, Exit Art, Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), NY; The New York, London & Rotterdam Film Festivals, among many others. He has collaborated with the Alchemical Theater, the band Circle X, Voom HD Lab, expanded cinema groups kinoSonik & Arcane Project, and most recently with the Optipus film group. For many years he has been a manager and research at Anthology Film Archives as well as a Member of the Board of Director’s of the Film-makers’ Cooperative in New York.
Kenneth Curwood is an artist and filmmaker from New York. In his work, Curwood often takes apart old movie cameras and projectors, and re-purposes them to photograph movies one frame at a time (DIY optical printing). He then processes the film in home-made chemical mixtures. Curwood’s works have been shown among others at Anthology Film Archives, Canada Gallery, Union Docs, Louis V E.S.P., and Heliopolis Gallery. Kenneth Curwood graduated with a BA in sculpture from the School of the Visual Arts.
Lea Bertucci works with Photography, Sound, Video and Installation. She received her BA in Photography from Bard College in 2007. The emphasis of her work lies in exciting the liminal areas of perception. She uses tactics such as slide projection, stop motion video and lo-fi filtering of sound to engage with these ideas. She is one half of the experimental electroacoustic duo Twistycat and lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
Sarah Halpern works with 16mm film, collage on paper, 35mm slides, music and performance. Her work is largely focused on cinematic time and the active role of the viewer, and has been shown previously at venues including The Museum of Moving Image, The Kitchen, Participant Inc, Anthology Film Archives, and Microscope Gallery. Halpern holds a B.A. in Film and Electronic Arts from Bard College.
Tim Geraghty is an experimental filmmaker and video artist from Providence, Rhode Island, currently living in Brooklyn, New York. He’s a professional broadcast news and documentary editor interested in radically re-editing footage, especially found footage from his line of work, into films with the associative language of dreams. He has previously exhibited his works at Anthology Film Archives, Migrating Forms, Issue Project Room, Microscope Gallery, White Box, SCOPE NY, Lincoln Center, SUDLAB (Naples) and the Rotterdam International Film Festival.
Raha Raissnia is a visual artist who emigrated from Iran to the United States in 1983. She received her B.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1992 and her M.F.A. from Pratt institute in 2002. From 1992 to 1995, between her two degrees, Raissnia worked at Anthology Film Archives in New York, a time that she describes as being “directly formative years” for her exposure to and knowledge of avant-garde cinema as well as for the paintings she made during this period. In all of her gallery exhibitions and in various configurations she has presented elements of all three areas of her practice; that is painting, drawing, and filmmaking. She is represented by Miguel Abreu Gallery in NY, and Galerie Xippas in Paris.
