Microscope is thrilled to launch YES a screening, sound, performance series presenting emergent artists with works by two Bushwick-based artists Ursula Sommer and Christopher Michael.
The artists’ works intersect in their focus on singularities in our surroundings, with videos manifesting degradations in quality, in differing manners, but to the common end of emphasizing aspects of the environment. Sommer’s and Michael’s videos also overlap in their inclinations towards abstracting the mundane to suggest new narratives, blur lines of expectations, and redefine reality.
