Microscope Gallery is pleased to present a night of video screening and performance by New York/Paris-based artist Angie Eng, with PIMA (Performance Interactive Media Art) lab members John Jannone, Cara Juan, Adrian Jevicki, Hollie Miller, Rebecca Posner, Lisa Szolovits and guest musician Daniel Veksler. Eng participates in 6 of the 7 works, with performances either in solo or in collaboration, including two segments of her “Ad Attacks”, rapid-fire rounds of original footage of street advertisements from her hand-held projector. The PIMA ensemble presentations include “a game piece alluding to shared economies, an exquisite corpse action figure, radio remote arrangements, a detritus dance ritual and a transgender giant digital squid.”

Angie Eng is an experimental media artist who lives and works between Paris and New York City. Her video installations and performances have been exhibited and screened internationally including venues: Whitney Museum, Lincoln Center Video Festival, The Kitchen, New Museum, RPI, Eyebeam, Roulette, Bronx Museum, Artists Space, Art in General , Anthology Film Archives, and Cité de la Musique. John J.A. Jannone is a musician, installation artist, videographer, and founder of the graduate programs in Performance and Interactive Media Arts at Brooklyn College, which he directed from 2003-2008. He co-directs Camp Ballibay for the Fine and Performing Arts and The Farm Arts Camp, two arts summer camps for children in Northeastern Pennsylvania. More info at www.johnjajannone.net
Adrian Jevicki is a Brooklyn-based dance and theater maker, creating inter-disciplinary works about the relationships between people, their ideas and their things. Using a movement vocabulary focused on action and reaction (both conceptually and physically) and funked-out psycho-sexual vibes, he makes dances that ask themselves questions. He has presented work at Dixon Place, Jacob’s Pillow, University of Chicago, Galapagos. More info at www.movementpantsdance.blogspot.com
Cara Juan is a Brooklyn based performance artist and musician. She can usually be seen out and about with her band, A Case for Brooklyn (www.acaseforbrooklyn.com)
Hollie Miller has a BPA from The Northern School of Contemporary Dance (UK), and received the Lisa Ullman Travelling Scholarship Fund to study Butoh in Japan. In London, Hollie was involved in multiple interactive performances integrating digital technology with new sonic interfaces; she is now based in New York.
Rebecca Sylvia Posner is a writer and multi-media performance artist based in Brooklyn, NY. A writer, painter, and bodyworker by training, Rebecca’s explorations of physical presence and cross-disciplinary synesthesia have led her to the Performance and Interactive Media Arts MFA program at Brooklyn College. She is co-founder and host of an interdisciplinary art salon and guerrilla performance series in Brooklyn and beyond.
Lisa Szolovits is a director and developer of new performance. She has made work on the East Coast with the Playwrights Horizons Resident Workshop, Ars Nova, Dixon Place, Columbia University, NYU, The Assembly, Forest Fringe, UglyRhino, Tugboat Collective, Lost Theater, Manhattan Shakespeare Project, and Williamstown Theatre Festival, as well as with Echo Theater Company, Theatre of NOTE and Circle X Theatre Co. in Los Angeles.
